Israel announces elimination of senior Hamas commander, strikes on 450 targets in just 24 hours
The Israeli military says it eliminated yet another senior Hamas commander in its wave of 450 airstrikes on Hamas targets over the past 24 hours early Monday morning.
Israeli Defense Forces say the strikes killed Jamal Mussa, who was responsible for the special security operations of Hamas. The IDF says it targeted a variety of Hamas emplacements, includling "military compounds, observation posts, anti-tank missile launch posts" and groups of terrorists.
The wave of strikes comes as Israeli forces are poised to enter Gaza City, where the military believes many of Hamas' hostages are being held. Israeli soliders will have to begin the arduous task of clearing out Hamas' labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city.
