Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka says it "was absurd" to be booed at Wimbledon subsequent to confronting Ukrainian Elina Svitolina

Belarus' Victoria Azarenka reacts to spectators as she leaves the court after losing her fourth round match against Ukraine's Elina Svitolina at Wimbledon, on July 9.
Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka said "it was absurd" that the Wimbledon swarm booed toward the finish of her fourth-round match against Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.

As she has done subsequent to confronting other Russian and Belarusian players, Svitolina - who won the tight challenge 2-6 6-4 7-6 (11-9) - declined to shake Azarenka's hand given the continuous conflict in her nation of origin.

All things considered, Azarenka showed her appreciation towards her rival with a hand motion at the net before the group booed as she strolled off the court.

"What could I at any point say regarding the group? Nothing remains to be said," the No. 19 seed told columnists after the match. "She would rather not warmly greet Russian, Belarusian individuals. I regarded her choice.

"What would it be advisable for me to have done? Remained and paused? Well, there's nothing that I could do that would have been correct, so I just did my thought process was aware towards her choice," added Azarenka
