Driver killed, another man injured in single-car crash on Cross Bronx Expressway

A man crashed his BMW into a pillar on the Cross Bronx Expressway and died early Saturday, police said.
The 30-year-old driver was traveling north on the Cross Bronx Expressway, heading toward Exit 2 at Jerome Ave. in Mount Eden around 1:45 a.m. when he misjudged the exit ramp and struck a median, police said.
The car then crashed into a pillar near the exit ramp, authorities said.
Medics rushed the victim to BronxCare Health System, where he died of his injuries.
A 35-year-old male passenger in the luxury car suffered minor injuries. A 21-year-old woman refused medical attention, cops said.
Police were investigating the crash Saturday.
