NRA spokewoman Dana Loesch reportedly once pitched a 'hot young right-wing mom' sitcom to TV producer

American political commentator and radio host Dana Loesch has recently made headlines as a spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association, and has fallen under the spotlight since a shooting in a Florida school reignited debates on gun control. 

Loesch represented the NRA at a recent townhall meeting in Parklands where the shooting occurred, and has come under fire in the past when she fronted an NRA ad about anti-Trump protests where she said: "The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom, is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth. I'm the National Rifle Association of America, and I'm freedom's safest place."

Given her high profile and her strong association with the gun lobby, the news that she pitched a "hot mom" sitcom to the producer of NCIS may surprise some. Loesch isn't exactly a cuddly character, but she seemed to see that as a selling point when she approached Paul Guyot. 

Guyot tweeted about the encounter on Thursday: "Dana Loesch came to me 10 years ago pitching a sitcom starring herself: 'A hot young mom who does far right radio show.' [She] said her age and looks would make one side hate her and one love her so everyone would watch. [She] was obsessed with the potential fame and money. I turned her down."

Guyot went on to say: "My memory is she was consumed with the idea that she was super hot and right wing, so that rare combo (her words) HAD to mean she could get rich & famous. [I ] guess she found another way to her goal."

Loesch is yet to give her side of the story.
