Trump rally underway in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania
Former President Donald Trump is kicking off his Sunday campaign swing with a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, as he focuses on the critical “blue wall” state.
Lititz is in the southeast of the state, about 9 miles north of Lancaster.
According to a CNN poll released last week, the race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is tied in Pennsylvania (both with 48% support). The Keystone State is the largest electoral prize of the three blue wall states and a central piece of either candidate’s hopes of winning the White House.
Trump started the rally with what he said was a simple question, “Do you like it better now, or four years ago?” before diving into familiar talking points on immigration and the economy.
He also criticized Democrats for their handling of Harris’ ascension to party nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, and complained about the length of time it takes to count votes, saying that it should be much faster and that the system needs to be changed.
Trump has been laying the groundwork to dispute the results of the 2024 election, sowing doubts about the process in the final days of the presidential race.
