Israeli security cabinet yet to agree on Iran response, source says

Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepts rockets after Iran fired a salvo of ballistic missiles, as seen from Ashkelon, Israel, on October 1.

Israel’s security cabinet did not reach a decision on how to respond to Iran’s missile attack following discussions on the matter, a source familiar with the matter told CNN on Friday.

The gaps between the US and Israeli positions were narrowing, the source added.

US President Joe Biden has said Israel’s retaliation for the October 1 Iranian missile barrage should be “proportional.”
