'MURDER' PROBE Man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of murder after woman stabbed to death at home in Kent town
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death.
Emergency services rushed to a property on Henderson Drive in Dartford, Kent, following reports of a disturbance shortly before 7am
They attended the home where a woman was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
Paramedics battled to save her life but she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s, who was known to the victim, has since been arrested and taken into custody.
Henderson Drive is taped off between the junctions with Marsh Street and Cavell Crescent while officers continue their inquiries.
Forensics officers in protective clothing have been seen going in and out of the house as they scour the area for evidence.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Kent Police.
Residents living nearby reported hearing the sirens of emergency vehicles throughout the morning, with an air ambulance car among those called to the scene.
Speaking earlier, one neighbour told KentOnline: “You do not expect this on your doorstep."Another said: "I have never seen so many law cars go down the hill.
“I was born in Dartford and I have never seen anything like this.”
In a statement, the new MP for Dartford, Jim Dickson, said: “My thoughts are with the victim and all those affected by this morning’s tragic incident in Temple Hill.
“I would like to thank the police for their swift response and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact them.”
In an earlier statement, ward councillor for Temple Hill Cllr Kelly Grehan said she has been made aware of a “very serious incident” and asked people not to speculate on the circumstances.
The Brits are not allowed to speculate, but the rest of us can- why no photo of the perp, officers?
