FIND HER Cops hunting for missing woman who vanished 1 MONTH ago share harrowing unrecognisable mugshot in desperate search bid
POLICE released an unrecognisable mugshot of a woman who vanished a month ago as they continue to search for her.
The woman - named only as Claire by police - went missing from Barnsley in South Yorkshire on June 11 at around 1pm.
The new photo is in stark contrast to the other image the police shared.
The 44-year-old was last seen in Silkstone, on the outskirts of Barnsley, on June 24 between 2.30pm and 3pm.
A map released by police shows the three confirmed sightings of her.
Officers described Claire as a white woman, 5ft 4ins tall, with long dark brown hair shaved at the sides.
She was last seen wearing grey trousers, a grey or mint green jumper and a long black gilet with the hood up.
Police shared the mugshot image on X earlier this month and appealed to the public for any information.
A week later, South Yorkshire Police released a new image which showed Claire looking younger as they hoped to "jog someone's memory".
A police spokesperson said: "We are sharing a new, clearer photograph we have of Claire, which has been taken from her Facebook account. "Although this photo is old, we are sharing this image in the hope it will aid our ongoing investigation."
And today they shared more photographs of Claire in a gilet.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Robinson said: "At the time of the last confirmed sighting we have of Claire, we were experiencing a heatwave.
"We believe Claire is wearing heavy winter clothing and we hope sharing this and the map of her last sightings will jog someone's memory.
"Claire is known to frequent church grounds and enjoys wild camping, and we would ask the public to bear this in mind as we appeal to you for more information."
Last week, police revealed photos of a woman believed to be Claire walking with her hood up along the side of the road.
DS Robinson added: "We are very concerned about Claire's disappearance and have been working round the clock to find her."
