Taliban Vows It Is Returning To Stoning Women To Death In Public

The Taliban vowed in a message to the West over the weekend that it will soon return to stoning women to death in public.

“You say it’s a violation of women’s rights when we stone them to death,” said Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, according to The Telegraph. “But we will soon implement the punishment for adultery. We will flog women in public. We will stone them to death in public.”

“These are all against your democracy but we will continue doing it,” he continued. “We both say we defend human rights – we do it as God’s representative and you as the devil’s.”

The publication said that these remarks are the most extreme that he has made since the Biden administration effectively handed over control of Afghanistan to the Taliban during President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdraw from the country in August 2021.

The report noted that the Taliban reverted to its old extreme methods of punishment almost immediately after taking over, including carrying out public executions and beating people.

“Do women want the rights that Westerners are talking about? They are against Sharia and clerics’ opinions, the clerics who toppled Western democracy,” he said. “I told the Mujahedin that we tell the Westerners that we fought against you for 20 years and we will fight 20 and even more years against you.”

“It did not finish [when you left]. It does not mean we would now just sit and drink tea. We will bring Sharia to this land,” he continued. “It did finish after we took over Kabul. No, we will now bring Sharia into action.”

A U.N. report from last year found that 37 people had already been sentenced to stoning under the Taliban regime and that more than 100 had received sentences for “crimes against God”, according to Fox News. Some of the punishments included lashings and having walls knocked down on individuals.
