Tennis Legend Martina Navratilova Goes Viral With Post Slamming Trans-Identifying Male Athletes

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova went viral following her latest social media post slamming trans-identifying male athletes competing in women’s sports.

“Women’s sports is not the place for mediocre male athletes who compete as women,” Navratilova wrote on X on Tuesday. “Period.”

At the time of this publication, the post has garnered 1.6 million views and counting.

The majority of responses were overwhelmingly in agreement. Many wrote simply, “Thank You” to the retired professional tennis player. Others shared their own thoughts.

“It’s not even the place for horrible male athletes,” one account replied. “The focus must not be on the men who steal championships, but on how every man steals the opportunity to compete from some woman. There is great value in sports, even (or maybe especially) when you lose and have to try again.”

Another added, “Big kudos to you Martina for saying things straight. Keep fighting verbally for women’s rights, your good example is even more needed today. You did a great deal of work early on for the recognition of lesbian rights. And you were a fantastic tennis player and many of us enjoyed watching you play.”

Some of the commenters, who claimed to identify as transgender, could not have agreed more.

“I am an older transgendered gal and I agree with Martina,” one account posted. “I accepted long ago that due to circumstances beyond my control I must go through life like this. I support my sisters and I refuse to put a stumbling block in their path. That’s what true sisterhood means.”

While another added, “I’m a trans-person and I approve that message. Kick the trendgenders out of women’s sport and women’s spaces.”

Navratilova has been very outspoken about trans-identifying males competing in female sports. She previously blasted trans-identifying athlete Lia Thomas after the swimmer said critics are pushing “transphobic beliefs” under the “guise of feminism.”

The tennis star responded on X to a TMZ headline that read, “LIA THOMAS Fires Back At Critics …YOU’RE USING ‘FEMINISM’ TO HIDE TRANSPHOBIA!!!”

Navratilova’s post included the headline, saying, “NEWSFLASH Lia — it’s not fair.”

“We shouldn’t have to explain it to you over and over,” she added. “Also — stop explaining feminism to feminists….”
