Trump weighs in on potential speaker nomination as he arrives for day 3 of fraud trial

Former President Donald Trump arrived to his courtroom for the third day of his fraud trial in Manhattan on Wednesday.

Trump entered the courthouse alongside his defense team, including attorney Alina Habba. Reporters asked Trump about the ouster of now-former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Multiple Republican lawmakers have floated the possibility of nominating Trump to replace McCarthy as speaker, and Trump stated that he would do what is "best for the country and the Republican Party."

"A lot of people have been asking me about it," Trump said. He added that there are other "great people" in the GOP who could handle the job, however.

"My total focus is on being president," Trump said.
