The UK government will dispatch 60 emergency relief officials, four search dogs and rescue equipment to Morocco to support the aid efforts there.

The team will travel to the North African nation on Monday via Royal air Force A400M aircraft provided by the Ministry of Defence, the British Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCO) said in a statement on Sunday.

UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly offered his "deepest sympathies to the people of Morocco after this tragic event."

The UK International Search and Rescue team uses specialist equipment including seismic listening devices, and concrete cutting and breaking tools, to help lift people from under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
