‘You Can’t Hide’: Zendaya Talks Relationship With Tom Holland

Zendaya talked about her relationship with fellow Marvel star Tom Holland and said she knows she “can’t hide” and wants to love who she wants to love, but has tried to keep the details of their romance private.

The 26-year-old actress spoke to Elle magazine about having control over how much she shares about their relationship because it’s a balancing act, adding that it’s about “protecting the peace.”

“Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public,” the former Disney star said. “I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love.”

“But also, I do have control over what I choose to share,” she added. “It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”

The comments about keeping their relationship private were similar to ones the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star made in July during his appearance on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast.

“I just am really, really keen to focus on what makes me happy, which is my family, it’s my friends,” Holland said. “It’s my carpentry, my golf, the charity that my mom runs.”

“Like, that is the stuff that makes me really happy, and that’s the stuff that I should protect,” he added. “My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible. We both feel very strongly that that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple.”

During an interview with GQ in November 2021, Holland expressed his frustration with their romance being a focus and said, “One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.”Both stars have previously been photographed on the red carpet holding hands and embracing, but they have tried to keep their romance out of the headlines. The couple are rumored to have been dating for years, but exactly how long is unclear.
