Gino D'Acampo claimed to have cooked a roast in his pizza oven

Gino posted a video of him bringing out his freshly made dish - but fans spotted the oven wasn't on.

He said: "Look at this guys, I just cooked a roast chicken with lemon and fresh tomatoes.

"A pizza oven is not just for pizza."

Gino then captioned the post: "Who said pizza ovens are just for cooking Pizza? With my @ginopizzaovens and skillet pans, you can cook meat, fish, vegetables and more… Available now at Ginopizzaovens.com."

Fans furiously commented underneath the post, writing: "I'm sorry, but that isn't just cooked in the pizza oven, it may look nice but be honest please."

Someone else added: "Sorry mate, but that doesn't look like it just came out of the that oven."

Another claimed: "I would believe it if I see the whole process. I am cooking a lot and this doesn’t look to be cooked in this oven. Instead of fake advertising, it’s better to be honest. Your audience are not stupid!"

"That oven didn’t cook that food," insisted another. It's the latest in a run of gaffes that Gino's made this year - both on and off-screen.

The TV chef, 46, has seen his restaurant chain go bust and has had one of his shows axed after filming just two episodes.

The Sun recently revealed how Gino's chain of Italian restaurants were shut down with more than £5m of debt.

ITV also decided not to continue shooting a cooking show fronted by Gino.

The This Morning

TV chef, 46, had filmed two pilot episodes of Gino's Cooking Up Love for ITV.

In another blow, Gino shocked fans by announcing his exit from ITV’s Gordon, Gino And Fred: Road Trip earlier this year via a video posted on Instagram, in which he claimed “contractual complications” sparked his decision.

And The Sun told in March how Gino was caught with cannabis by Border Force sniffer dogs as he flew into Britain on Gordon's private jet.

Cannabis was then found in a small box inside the Family Fortunes presenter’s luggage.

Officers accepted it was for his own medicinal use — not intended for anybody else — and issued him with a warning.

Gino was stopped, cautioned and fined for possession of a prohibitive substance, namely cannabis.

But he was not arrested.

And Gordon even branded Gino "lazy" in a damning chat.

The celeb chef said: "They are great, they are wonderful, fantastic, incredible pain in the ar**s. They're so f***ing lazy, they make me look good.

"An hour in Gino wants an espresso, or he wants his eyebrows plucked, ninety minutes in, Fred's missing his croissant and his eyeliner.

"So we do get on, but three or four days in it's like, 'Move over, I want more room in the bed', or, 'Can we have a break?' They don't work hard."

His pal and co-star Gordon Ramsay also branded him 'lazy'
