MIRACLE ESCAPE Watch as car hurtles off road and crashes 40ft below in epic smash that looks straight out of a Hollywood movie
THIS is the moment a car hurtles off the road and crashes 40ft below in an epic smash that looks like something straight out of a Hollywood movie.
The accident was filmed by multiple CCTV cameras and left the neighbours in the residential street stunned.
The out-of-control car can be seen top left hurtling off the road in San Francisco
The white motor flew down an embankment before landing upside down
The video shows a white sedan barrelling through a guard rail on a dead-end street in San Francisco's Dolores Heights.
The white car flew down an embankment, smashed through a tree before landing on its roof.
Fortunately no one was hurt in the crash, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
David Lieb, who lives in Dolores Heights, said he was startled by the sound of the accident.
He told SFGATE: "I was reading bedtime stories to my three-year-old, and we heard a big crash, and I went outside to investigate.
"I didn’t see something at first, and then I saw other neighbours converging down the steps."
The accident took place less than a minute after three women passed through the spot where the car landed, NBC reports.
David added: "What’s scary is, my family goes up and down these steps all the time.
"My daughter and I have a passion project to try to plant the succulents in the planters here, and we could have easily been standing there at that moment.”
Some neighbours believe that the car may have been stolen.
However, cops have not confirmed anything yet and are currently investigating the crash.
The video uploaded to Juliabrownsf has gone viral on Youtube with more than 60,000 views - and people were quick to comment.
One said: "Wow. The driver and passengers seem to have not wanted to wait around for the police."
Another said: "That's the quickest response from the firefighters I've ever seen."
A third pointed out: "Oh man, just a minute earlier, people were walking down the stairs and on the sidewalk there."
It comes after a little girl and her family were left counting their blessings after she narrowly escaped death in a shocking crash.
Plus, a video has revealed the moment two Ferrari supercars flew through the air and crashed into a wall after a "holiday street race" went terribly wrong.
