New movies this week: Watch 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' 'The Eight Mountains'

 Cue up the 1970s rock classics because Marvel's bringing the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy in for a landing.

This weekend, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldaña and their cosmic crew head off on another space mission in writer/director James Gunn's concluding chapter. Lily James stars in a rom-com about assisted marriages, ex-"Batwoman" star Javicia Leslie headlines a twisty crime thriller and Megan Fox plays the heavy in a noir-esque spin on a Bonnie and Clyde tale.

If you're ride or die for Rocket and Groot: 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

Who cares if it's cliche to say: You'll laugh and cry watching this wrap-up for Marvel's most motley crew. When a surprise attack leaves beloved raccoon Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) badly wounded, Star-Lord (Pratt) and his teammates buckle up for a memorable quest to save him in a touching, trilogy-closing adventure with callbacks, payoffs, new and old characters alike and an ending that'll have fans spouting, "We are Groot!"

If you like your rom-coms with international flair: 'What's Love Got to Do With It?'

Fabulous Tina Turner song, middling romantic comedy. "What's Love" casts James as a London documentary filmmaker whose next project is chronicling her childhood friend/neighbor (Shazad Latif) as he embarks on the path of an assisted marriage and travels to Pakistan to meet his bride. It's emotionally manipulative and the ending is all too saccharine, though props to Emma Thompson for stealing scenes as James' quirky screen mom.

If you dig great friendship stories: 'The Eight Mountains'

In this insightful and stunning story of friendship and gorgeous scenery, city guy Pietro (Luca Marinelli) and outdoorsy Bruno (Alessandro Borghi) were childhood pals who spent summers together in a deserted Italian mountain village. Years later, the death of Pietro's dad reunites them to build a house and fulfill a promise, leading both on journeys toward self-discovery and their place in the world in the Cannes Film Festival jury prize winner.

If you're down with a twist on the usual crime thriller: 'Double Life'

There's a definite Lifetime-y vibe and the final act falls apart. However, the leads do what they can with an actually interesting spin on the buddy thriller narrative: When a district attorney involved with a high-profile case is murdered, his bartender mistress (Leslie) – who's quite skilled with her fists and a gun – and his widow (Pascale Hutton) team up to investigate criminal chicanery and chase down the killers.

If you're a Megan Fox completist: 'Johnny & Clyde'

In this neon-soaked, forgettably gonzo and creepily unsexy crime noir, serial-killing partners in crime Johnny (Avan Jogia) and Clyde (Ajani Russell) turn their sights from wanton violence to robbing a secret bank where hot-tempered and sociopathic casino boss Alana (Fox) squirrels away her funds. The whole thing is a ridiculous affair, before it even gets to the inexplicable conjuring of a supernatural god of death. (We wish we were kidding.)
