Christie's team reportedly says the campaign will be focused on 'engaging Trump'

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will formally enter the 2024 presidential race next week, according to a new report.

Christie, 60, is expected to throw his hat into the Republican presidential primary ring during an event in New Hampshire, Axios reported Wednesday. Christie's team says the campaign will be heavily focused on "engaging Trump" as well as maintaining an upbeat tone that they hope speaks to America's "exhausted majority," the outlet reported.

Christie has been one of former President Donald Trump's foremost critics since Trump's effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
