'(I really like the two women on this so zero shade to them but producers still doing this: it's mental if you can't see what you're doing.)'

The comedian, who also hosts BBC Sounds Wheel of Misfortune podcast, added: 'Wheel of Misfortune podcast 'I don't want to be on it. It's a thing that happens less now in the UK but it's where a show has all male comics then instead of female comics they have a pretty woman from TOWIE or similar.

A Big Fat Quiz spokesperson told FEMAIL:, 'From the very outset, both The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and The Big Fat Quiz of Everything have featured a brilliant line up of male and female talent.' Others also shared the criticism, with one writing: 'What even is this?! Four male comedians, two female non-comedians,'

Rachel Parris, comic ans star of the Mash Report, added: 'The practise of casting comedy shows with only male comedians plus other famous women who are not comedians is unbelievably infuriating. It's a comedy show, Channel 4, do you not know any female comedians?

'Absolutely nothing against Stacey and Maya, I think they're great, and great at what they do, it's just a really specific issue here; pro male comics and not any pro female comics and it happens very often. Sub in Millican, Pascoe and Philip Schofield.

Comedian Felicity Ward also hit out at Channel 4,  reply to Rachel: 'I thought the same thing last night. It's infuriating. It happens ALL THE TIME. You. Suzi Ruffell. Fern Brady. Jen Brister. Desiree Birch. Jess Fostekew. Kiri P.M. That's not including the top top top women. How many times have Channel 4 talked about equality/inclusivity.

Philly Spurr, a Communications Manager for BBC News added: 'You have to wonder what the role of Stacey and Maya are - fodder for the male comics to poke fun at?'

Broadcaster Miranda Saywer added: 'So infuriating. Also see presenting duos: the norm is to cast Pretty (woman) and Witty (man).

'Both can do the job, but their unspoken extra jobs are different: the woman is there to look fit, the bloke to make you laugh.
