Police have released shocking video that shows a gunman shooting dead a Brooklyn man and wounding an innocent woman in a daring daylight attack.
The clip, posted by NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison on Friday, shows the gunman casually walking up to the corner of New Lots Ave. and Mother Gaston Blvd. in Brownsville about 6:45 p.m. Thursday before he opens fire.
Deondraye Moore, 20, was shot in the head just as he was about to step into his gated Plaza Residences building, police said.
Shaquana Fields, 36, was shot in the chest and arm as she stepped out of a nearby store, cops said.
Both victims were rushed to Brookdale Hospital where Moore died of his wounds, cops said. Fields, believed to be an innocent bystander, was expected to survive.
Moore’s family were left rattled by his sudden death.
“I’m still trying to wrap my head around it,” Derrick Moore, Deondraye’s grief stricken father, told the Daily News Friday. “I’m shocked.”
Derrick Moore said he spoke to his son just a week ago. The two talked about his burgeoning music career and how Deondraye wanted to do a duet with his father.
“He wanted me to sing and he would rap. I said ‘I’ll think about it.‘ I don’t like rap, but I support him,” the proud dad said.

“He was a good kid,” he said in a soft voice.

Deondraye’s sister broke the horrific news to him on Thursday night, his father said.
“It was on Facebook. His older sister called me. She said, ‘He’s dead!’ I said, ‘What do you mean he’s dead?’” Derrick Moore said.
“I didn’t sleep last night,” he said. “I’m going to try to get some sleep, but I don’t know if I will today. I’m just mourning my son.”
No arrests have been made.
Cops are looking into whether the shooting was retaliation for a fight Moore was involved in earlier this month, sources said.
