Man fatally shoots ex-girlfriend’s new beau in Brooklyn apartment as his child watches: sources

A father fatally shot his ex-girlfriend’s new beau in her Brooklyn apartment as his young child watched Tuesday, police sources said.
The 28-year-old gunman was dropping his child off about 3:50 p.m. at the mom’s sixth-floor apartment in the Gowanus Houses on Hoyt St. near Butler St. when he encountered her new boyfriend inside, sources said.
The two men got into an argument, and the child’s father pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the chest, sources said.

The 34-year-old victim was conscious and alert when police arrived, sources said. Medics took him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he later died, cops said. Police have not yet released his name.

The shooter, whose name also has not been released, complained of chest pains and was also hospitalized, cops said. Charges against him are pending.
