Someone’s love for Post Malone is going cold.
The 24-year-old “Sunflower” singer, born Austin Richard Post, is being sued by Tyler Armes, who says he co-wrote Malone’s “Circles” without receiving any credit or money, TMZ reported Tuesday.
After Malone’s manager suggested the two join forces to write a song in late summer 2018, Armes says that he not only gave his two-cents for parts of the pop rock song, including its guitar melody, but that he wrote chords and the bass line, according to the documents the outlet obtained.
But Armes insists his name was nowhere to be found when the song was released the following August and says Malone’s team offered him 5% of publishing royalties but without credit.

When he tried to get more money along with the credit, the suit says Malone’s team rebuffed him.

Armes also claims he and the “Goodbyes” singer’s manager discussed the matter in writing and the latter added that Malone had acknowledged how Armes’ work contributed to the song, which Billboard dubbed the seventh-best song of 2019.

Producer Frank Dukes — who was given a songwriting credit and has worked with artists like Drake, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift — was with the two when they worked together in 2018 and came up with the song and is also being sued by Armes.
