  • Harrelson said he had 'seen his fair share of narcissists' but that Trump 'was beyond' and 'blew his mind'
Woody Harrelson has spoken of how he was forced to smoke a marijuana joint and get high in order to survive a dinner with Donald Trump and his wife Melania.
Harrelson has spoken about the dinner which took place in 2002 where he reveals how he quickly came to the conclusion that Trump, who was a property developer at the time, was a raving narcissist.
Harrelson also tells how the current President dominated the conversation throughout the dinner that lasted some two-and-a-half hours.
Speaking to Esquire, the 58-year-old said: 'So we all met at Trump Tower, sat down. Melania was there, only she wasn't his wife yet. And it was, let me tell you, a brutal dinner. Two and a half hours.
The evening was so intense that the Hollywood actor claims he was forced to go outside and smoke pot in order to endure more of Trump's ramblings as the evening wore on.
'It got so bad I had to go outside and burn one before returning to the monologue monopoly. Listen, I came up through Hollywood, so I've seen narcissists. This guy was beyond. It blew my mind.'
Harrelson goes on to say how he felt sorry for Trump's future wife, Melania, who was completely shuttered out of the dinner conversation that also included the then Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura.
'Now, at a fair table with four people, each person is entitled to 25 percent of the conversation, right? I'd say Melania got about 0.1 percent, maybe. I got about 1 percent. And the governor, Jesse, he got about 3 percent. Trump took the rest,' Harrelson said.

Harrelson also told how he went to college with Vice President Mike Pence.
'As a freshman, I gave a sermon to a youth group, and Mike was the guy running the show. He was a junior, I think ... He struck me as a nice guy, very sincere. I don't know how well we'd get along now, but we got along okay then.'
The actor also said Willie Nelson brought him back to smoking marijuana.
'Yep, I did quit,' he told the writer while smoking a joint. 'For almost two years. No smoking, no vaping. And then I ran into this guy.' The actor points to Willie Nelson. 'And that was that.'
Willie has had a big impact on Woody's life. He not only mentored him, but he also encouraged him to move to Hawaii decades ago.
'You know the whole reason I'm in Maui in the first place is Willie,' Harrelson said.
'Yeah, I went and saw one of his shows a number of years ago. I wanted to meet him. So afterward, I went to his bus and knocked on the door, and the door opened, and smoke was billowing out, and I look through the haze and I see this fellow with long hair holding a big old fatty, and he says, 'Let's burn one.'

'And I know right away that he's going to be a friend for life. He told me he had a place in Maui and to come on out, and that's how I just sort of ended up there.
'Anyway, Willie passed me the pen after I'd won this huge pot. I was in a celebrating mood, so I snatched the pen from him and took a long draw. And Willie smiled at me and said, 'Welcome home, son.''
In 2017 the star kicked weed to the curb because he said he was 'partying too f**king hard' for 30 years and wanted to be 'more present' in life.
Getting real: 'Yep, I did quit,' the 57-year-old Zombieland star told the writer while smoking a joint. 'For almost two years. No smoking, no vaping. And then I ran into this guy.' The actor points to Willie Nelson. 'And that was that.'

He also told Vulture in 2017: 'The effect is euphoria,' about getting high. 'But when you're doing it all the time, it just becomes … I feel like it was keeping me from being emotionally available.'
Netflix announced that the actor is set to appear in another film for the streaming platform alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the action thriller Kate.
Winstead, 34, stars as a ruthless professional assassin who is irreversibly poisoned and finds she has just 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies.
As she hunts them down, she forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her own past victims.
It's not known what role Harrelson will play, Kate will be directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who helmed 2016's The Huntsman: Winter's War.
