Tough day on set! Chris Pine is all bloodied up as he's seen filming TNT mini-series One Day She'll Darken

He looked like he'd been mugged as he walked across a parking lot in Los Angeles with blood pouring from his forehead.
But no need to worry about Chris Pine.
The actor was filming TNT's new six-part drama One Day She'll Darken, based on the real-life of Fauna Hodel.

Great act: Chris Pine looked like he'd been mugged as he walked across a parking lot in Los Angeles with blood pouring from his forehead and splattered all over his white coat

The 33-year-old plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack reporter probing the case of Fauna Hodel, who was given away by her white teenage mother to a black restroom attendant in a Nevada casino in 1949.

The sinister trail leads him to infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel, a suspect in the infamous Black Dahlia murder of Elizabeth Short in Los Angeles in 1947.
Chris, wearing a blood-spattered blue shirt and black pants with his tie loosened around his neck, shrugged off an equally gory white hospital coat as he walked back to his car.

More gore: Blood seemed to be streaming from his forehead and both his eyes looked as if they had been beaten shut as he stripped off what appeared to be a hospital coat

The Star Trek star is also a producer on the bio series, based on Fauna's bestseller of the same name, due to air next year.
Meanwhile, Chris will next be seen on the big screen in magical mystery A Wrinkle In Time, with Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling, due out on February 3.
He recently wrapped filming on Netflix's Outlaw King, in which he plays the great 14th century Scottish leader Robert The Bruce who fought the English monarchy, which has yet to set a release date.

Chris has thriller All The Old Knives in preproduction in which he stars opposite Michelle Williams as CIA operatives, and former lovers.
They reunite at Carmel-by-the-Sea in California to re-examine an old mission where a fellow agent might have been compromised.
And, of course, he's set to go boldly back into space as Captain James T. Kirk in the as-yet-unnamed third sequel of the rebooted Star Trek film franchise.

Boldly going: Chris is signed up to reprise his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the upcoming Star Trek movie. Here he's seen in 2016's Star Trek: Beyond with the late Anton Yelchin
