'DANGER' Lulu drops hint that she was ‘more than friends’ with music legend

LULU has lifted the lid on her relationship with David Bowie - hinting the iconic music pair might have been more than just friends.

The Glaswegian singer had just divorced her first spouse, former Bee Gees star Maurice Gibb in 1973, when she met the Ziggy Stardust legend, who died aged 69 in 2016.

Speaking on the Rosebud podcast, she said: “I had a relationship with David Bowie that was kind of amazing really. We recognised something in each other.

“And then when I went to New York after the first hit - quite a few months after the first hit he was involved in a lifestyle that was a little frightening to me. And I ran.

“At that point for sure I sensed danger.

“And I would say, and I’ve never said this before I don’t think, that I almost threw myself into John Frieda’s arms and I married John.

“It was like ‘that was danger and this was not danger’.”

Lulu is about to embark on her final tour after 60 years on the road.

But she still plans on making new music and recording another album with some interesting collaborations.
