Jamie Foxx out of the hospital 'for weeks,' 'recuperating' at home, daughter reveals

Jamie Foxx is out of the hospital and recovering at home following a medical complication, his daughter revealed on social media Friday.

The actor's daughter Corinne Foxx shared an "update from the family" on her Instagram story Friday, giving thanks for "everyone's prayers and support."

"Sad to see how the media runs wild," the 29-year-old wrote on her story, where she reposted a since-deleted social media graphic from music outlet RapTV, which claimed the family was "reportedly preparing for the worst" after Foxx's health scare.

"My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating," she said. "In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!"

She also teased a new project in the works: "We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!"

USA TODAY has reached out to Foxx's reps for comment.

Jamie Foxx took to Instagram the week prior to thank his followers for their concern and encouragement, weeks after his daughter announced he had "experienced a medical complication."

"Appreciate all the love!!!" he wrote in his brief post which included a hands emoji, a heart and a fox emoji. "Feeling blessed."





In April, the Foxx family revealed the medical event in a since-deleted Instagram post.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," the statement read. "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

Foxx's friend Nick Cannon, who was filling in for the actor as host of Fox's game show "Beat Shazam," previously gave an update about Foxx's condition in an interview with Entertainment Tonight published April 23

"Man, I'm praying," Cannon said. "I literally have been saying prayers out loud. Words of affirmation for my big brother. I know he's doing so much better."
