  • Deb Duncan, from Chicago, told how she found grandma's yearbook from 1949
  • Many wrote how they just wanted to get married and make husbands happy
  • Pat left social media users in hysterics after writing about avoiding death A woman who found her grandma's 1949 yearbook was left in hysterics after one of her 'iconic' classmates left a rather amusing note.

Deb Duncan, from Chicago, took to Twitter and shared an old photograph of a woman from the yearbook and penned: 'Pat was...built differently.'

While many of Pat's classmates wrote about wanting to spend their future making their husbands happy, Pat had a rather different future goal and penned: 'If I only knew where I was to die, I'd never go near the place.'

And it wasn't long before social media users took to the comments section to praise Pat for her very witty remark,

'They're like "I wanna be a homemaker", which I mean, valid. But my girl Pat is like "I WISH TO PURSUE IMMORTALITY" and I love that for her,' wrote one, while a second penned: 'Pat is ready to challenge death to a duel and i respect that.'

In a follow up Tweet, an amused Deb wrote: 'Her energy, her eyes, her desire to never die....icon.'

She continued: 'My grandma was a wonderful woman who just passed in December. I hope she was friends with Pat because she lived her life with a similar fire! 'She was a strong woman (who loved her gay granddaughter when others didn’t) and I hope this honors her and all of the Pat’s of the world!'

Among the other photos included classmate Vicki, who wrote: 'Ambition: To spend the rest of my life making Bob happy.'

Elsewhere, Mary commented: 'What else is there for a woman to do, but get married?'

And many were quick to comment on the contrast of views, with one social media user writing: 'Looks like the secret to eternal life is never getting married, not cheerleading, and getting takeout instead of doing home etc.'

A second commented: 'I love that she had absolutely NO hours of extracurriculars. pat wasn't wasting a MINUTE in her quest to evade death by doing anything she didn't want to, including a man. long live, Pat!'

But others were more distracted by Vicki's comment on wanting to spend her life making Bob happy, with one joking: 'I know in my heart that Bob didn't deserve Vicki.'

A second penned: 'Let’s just hope Vicki left Bob and made herself happy,' while a third commented: 'Well I'm not ready to throw Vicki under the bus just yet. For all we know, Bob's picture quote is: "To spend the rest of my life making Vicki happy." It happens. Not a lot, but it happens.'

A fourth wrote: 'I sometimes wonder how the much better the world would be now if during the last 300+ years half the population (women) hadn't been brought up to believe that their life's goal should be to become ONLY a wife & mother.'
