The book is now being turned into a Sony TV series staring Home and Away's Samara Weaving as Madison, who was Hefner's partner between 2001 and 2008. It will portray the realities of the Playboy lifestyle where the so-called Bunnies had twice-weekly group sex with the magazine's founder. Madison told Buzzfeed: 'They knew it was kind of a quote-unquote requirement for living there, and expected.

'And it had kind of a chore vibe, I felt.'

Madison was Hefner's longest partner after moving to the mansion in 2001 aged just 21, while he was 75.

During that time she became one of the stars of Girls Next Door, a reality show revolving around her and Hefner's other two live-in girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson.

Madison was considered his 'main girlfriend', and openly stated she wanted to marry him and have children.

However the couple eventually broke up in 2008 after she managed to break free of her self-described 'Stockholm Syndrome'.

Behind the scenes in the mansion, Madison said she was enduring a 'living hell' during which she even contemplated suicide.

In the book she details first meeting him at Hooters in 2000, when after a night out clubbing with his 'girlfriends', she realized that she was expected to sleep with him.

Hefner lived in the Mansion in Los Angeles from 1973 until his death in 2017 where he was famed for his debauched parties

She claimed her first encounter with Hefner was him offering her a Quaalude from a tissue in his pocket.

'Usually I don't approve of drugs, but you know, in the '70s they used to call these pills ''thigh openers'',' she claims Hefner told her.

After he brought her home from the club on the first night, she described in her book how Hefner masturbated as bunnies around him play-acted lesbian scenes while hardcore pornography played on two TV screens.

She was pushed forward as Hefner was encouraged to try the 'new girl' while the other women were high on the Quaaludes.

She says she remembers little of the sexual interaction after deciding to drink heavily instead of taking the drugs offered to her.

Madison then decided to try and become one of Hefner's regular girlfriends to continue living in Los Angeles.

She was one of a number of women who were expected to perform with him, causing bitter rivalries among the bunnies.

When she first moved into the mansion, she was one of seven roommates.

And the competition between the women was so strong, Holly says, that the women would tell lies about each other to get them kicked out.

She detailed the sexual encounters which she said had 'zero intimacy' and were 'so brief that I can't even recall what it felt like beyond having a heavy body on top of mine', she wrote.

Madison said: 'I couldn't leave because I felt like I'd be judged for having lived there. I had a huge scarlet letter on my forehead.'

Hefner also made regular comments about her appearance and would not let her see a therapist when she started to have mental health struggles, leaving her on the point of suicide.

The constant jibes and the lifestyle even left her with a stutter and she felt unable to talk to the other Bunnies about her feelings.

She wrote: 'Drowning myself seemed like a logical way to escape the ridiculous life I was leading.

'I just couldn't take my misery anymore.'

She told People: 'Holly, you can tell, had this ulterior motive every minute being at the Mansion, and that motive was – it was clear as day – she wanted Hef’s kids, she wanted a piece of Playboy and she wanted to marry Hef for, obviously, his will.

'That didn’t happen. So what do you think’s going to happen? Revenge. So we’re witnessing some revenge here.'

Wilkinson also fired off a number of foul-mouthed tweets in which she accused Madison of lying.

Wilkinson, who had her first encounter with Hefner when she was 18 and he was 78, has also spoken of sex being like a chore in the mansion.

She said: 'At about the minute mark, I pulled away and it was done. It was like a job. Clock in, clock out. It’s not like I enjoyed having sex with him.'

Meanwhile Madison has since appeared on Dancing with the Stars and married and divorced party promoter Pasquale Rotella.

She also appeared in her own reality show, Holly's World, which followed her as she tried to make it in Las Vegas.
