Northern Territory police using a cherry picker have arrested a man at a Darwin hotel after he climbed onto a balcony during a five-hour standoff.
The 30-year-old climbed onto a balcony on Thursday after police arrived at the hotel to speak to a woman about an alleged assault.
During the standoff the man climbed from balcony to balcony and refused to cooperate with officers, NT police said on Friday.

He then climbed onto a ledge from where he allegedly threw a can, injuring a police officer.
Police negotiators attempted to coax the man down before Tactical Response Group officers were called in.
They used an NT fire and emergency motorised ladder on a truck to reach the man.
He was charged with depriving a person of personal liberty, aggravated assault, making a threat to kill a person, damaging property, going armed with an offensive weapon, assaulting a member of the police force and resisting lawful apprehension,
The man was expected to appear in Darwin Local Court on Friday.
