The chain had initially relaunched its breakfast menu in just 42 pilot restaurants across Britain on June 24.
That reopening followed a trial of 11 restaurants in Roadchef service stations reopening on June 17 for takeaway and click-and-collect.
The fast-food chain now has 1,260 sites open.
Customers are encouraged to download the My McDonald’s app for the latest information regarding opening hours and to check the menu at their local branch.
Only a certain number of customers will be allowed in each restaurant at any time – depending on its size and layout - and they will need to follow a one-way system.
There will be hand-sanitising stations and its seating areas, toilets and lifts will remain closed, and McDonald’s staff will also use face coverings and gloves.
Perspex screens and other social-distancing measures have also been introduced, and the chain continues to offer a limited menu and will cap spending at £25.
There will be fewer self-order screens switched on and those in use will be sanitised at least every 30 minutes, and customers can also order via the My McDonald’s app.

McDonald’s UK & Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy said: 'It’s been over 100 days since we temporarily closed our doors. In the last 40 days, we have reopened over 1260 restaurants with tens of thousands of our employees returning to work.
'We are delighted to be back. We continue to see such a fantastic reaction from customers across the country, and we are so grateful to you all for the continued support.
'As our restaurant teams are settling into the new ways of working, we’ve been working hard to identify ways in which to extend our menu, operations and availability and today I am pleased to update you on a number of changes coming up this week and next.
'As ever, the safety of you and our employees comes first, so we are making gradual changes that we are confident still enable us to prioritise that safe working environment. Our ability to introduce some of these changes may also be impacted by factors specific to where certain restaurants operate. As always, we will continue to follow government guidelines.'
And fans were delighted that they could get their hands on a milkshake after weeks of going without during the lockdown.
One customer said: 'I've been dreaming of a McDonald's banana milkshake for so long.'
Another added: 'Yay for milkshakes.'
However many were disappointed that the much-loved apple pie did not feature on the menu.
And restaurants will remain closed for dine-in orders and will not re-open on July 4, despite Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirming eateries can allow customers to sit inside from that date.
