Man, 30, shot dead in Brooklyn; one three fatal shootings outside Brooklyn NYCHA developments

A 30-year-old man was shot to death outside a Brooklyn public housing development, police said Monday.
The slaying was the third fatal shooting outside Brooklyn NYCHA developments in less than 24 hours.
The victim was blasted in the chest on Monument Walk outside the Ingersoll Houses in Fort Greene about 9:25 p.m. Sunday.
Medics rushed him to Brooklyn Hospital but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.

Tiffany Wilson, 30, said around the time of the fatal shooting it sounded like fireworks were also set off in the area.
“I heard four or five [gunshots], but I don’t know because I couldn’t tell the difference between the firecrackers and the shots," she said.
Earlier Sunday, Russell “Tussle” Forrest, 22, was shot several times in the chest outside the Albany Houses on Bergen St. near Albany Ave. in Crown Heights.
Forrest, who was released from prison in January after serving a five-year sentence for burglary, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he died. He had been arguing with another man when the gunfire erupted about 1:30 a.m.
About 12 hours later, a 26-year-old man was shot in the head outside NYCHA’s Ralph Ave. Rehab on Ralph Ave. near Sutter Ave. in Brownsville.
Medics rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.
The three Brooklyn slayings were among 13 homicides citywide last week through Sunday compared to five homicides during the same week last year, a 160% increase, according to NYPD data. There were 40 shootings last week compared to 24 during the same week in 2019 - a 66% increase.
