He stands for the trees!
Porn star Ron Jeremy complained Saturday on Twitter that Con Ed wants to cut down a tree in Queens his father planted the day he was born, March 12, 1953.
The tweet includes a two-year old picture showing Jeremy hugging the tree on Bell Blvd. near Horace Harding Expressway in Bayside, where he grew up.
“Help me save my tree,” Jeremy wrote in a tweet. “This tree was planted by my dad the day I was born. Please let Con Edison know that they cannot tear down this tree.”
But Con Ed says tree is on city property, and that it will be up to the Parks Department to remove it or mitigate any danger it poses to nearby electric lines.
Jeremy, who hunkering down in a Hollywood hotel during the pandemic, told the Daily News that a neighbor who looks after the tree alerted him this week that its trunk was wrapped in yellow tape.
“I looked after that tree all my life. They tried to chop the tree down years ago but I wouldn’t let them,” Jeremy told The News. “I even belted myself to the tree.”
After the call, Jeremy considered flying to New York to protest the city removing what he believes to be an oak tree.
“I looked after that tree all my life. They tried to chop the tree down years ago but I wouldn’t let them,” Jeremy told the News. “I even belted myself to the tree.”

"If I was comfortable flying, I’d be there. I was going to do FaceTime with the tree, but he wouldn’t say anything.”
Jeremy, who according to IMDB has appeared in more than 800 adult feature films, has said he turned to porn because he couldn’t make money in off-Broadway shows. Before he began acting, Jeremy was a teacher.
He made headlines in Nov. 2017 when more than a dozen women accused him of sexual assault spanning three decades in a Rolling Stone article. The article got him banned from the 2018 AVN Awards ceremony, which honors people in the porn industry.
“Let my little tree live,” Jeremy said. "He ain’t ready to go yet.”
