'Tiger King’ Joe Exotic is in coronavirus isolation in prison, his husband says

Joe Exotic, the star of the runaway Netflix docu-series “Tiger King” about the backstabbing world of big cat collectors was isolated in a federal medical center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he’s serving a 22-year sentence for conspiracy to commit murder in a nearby prison.

“JOE IS STILL IN QUARENTINE. THERE ARE NOT CASES THERE,” according to his Twitter account, being operated from outside the facility. “FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS ILLNESS AND THAT YOU ALL RECOVER SOON. FOR ALL THE SOULS WE HAVE LOST IN THE WORLD DUE TO THIS. JOE SENDS HIS AND THANKS. HE WILL SOON BE BACK TO ANSWER YOU ALL SOON.”

Exotic’s husband Dillon Passage told SiriusXM host Andy Cohen Wednesday that Exotic, who goes by Joseph Maldonado-Passage Dillon, had been held in a jail where an inmate tested positive. It’s not known if Exotic, 57, has been infected.

Passage, 24, phoned in to Cohen’s show for an interview in which he said he was still in love with Exotic and had no intentions of breaking up with the convicted big cat collector, who had hoped to have rival tiger zoo operator Carol Baskin scratched off his enemy list.

There have been only 4,035 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Lone Star State, where the infection has killed 67 people. Nearly 28 million people live in Texas, compared to New York, which has a population under 20 million and has seen more than 83 million infections and 1,941 deaths, by NBC’s count.
