A 57-year-old man was stabbed to death inside his Brooklyn home early Wednesday and cops were questioning the man’s emotionally disturbed son, officials said.
Cops were on a meal break when the 26-year-old son ran up to them on the street about 4:30 a.m. saying his dad was hurt inside their nearby home on 84th St. near 14th Ave. in Dyker Heights.
Cops went to the address and found the father, identified by sources as Imad “Albert” Ahmad, dead inside with multiple stab wounds, authorities said.
Cops took his son to the 68th Precinct stationhouse for questioning.
Cops had previous dealings with Ahmad’s son but the earlier interactions had nothing to do with his father, sources said.
Ahmad’s grief-stricken brother showed up outside the family’s home after getting news of the killing, weeping and punching parked cars until bystanders restrained him and calmed him down.
Neighbors described Ahmad as a jovial fellow who recently sold a grocery he ran in the Rockaways in Queens.
“He said it was too much for him,” neighbor Mansour Hassan said about Ahmad giving up his business. “He was happy. It’s very scary. Very strange. He’s a very nice guy."
Ahmad’s son works for a delivery company and often parks his white van near the house, neighbors said.
“I don’t know what’s going on in their house," Hassan said. "I’ve never seen the son having problems with his father.”
