7 people test positive for coronavirus after chaotic Wisconsin election

At least seven people reportedly contracted coronavirus after taking part in Wisconsin’s controversial court-ordered in-person election.

Six voters who waited in long lines to vote at Milwaukee polling places have tested positive for the deadly virus, election officials said.

One poll worker also has the virus.

Milwaukee polling places were swarmed with voters after the pandemic forced the closure of all but five polling places in the city that usually has 180.

Voters were forced to vote in person after the conservative State Supreme Court blocked Gov. Tony Evers decision to delay it and allow for all mail-in voting.

The U.S. Supreme Court also stepped in to block voters who did not receive absentee ballots in time to vote, effectively forcing them to vote in person.

Despite the clampdown, a Democratic-backed candidate swept to victory in a hard-fought battle for a Supreme Court seat.
