Sarah, 43, a music manager from Essex, said she was a huge fan of 80's music, listing Curiosity Killed the Cat as one of her favourite bands.
She was paired with Ben, 52, who turned out to be Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot - the front man of the band who once featured on the posters of on Sarah's bedroom wall.
Viewers were shocked to see Ben back in the spotlight two decades after the act broke up, claiming he was 'begging to be noticed'.

Ben said he liked being anonymous after enjoying a string of top ten hits with the funk band in the late 1980s and early 90s.
But when Sarah quizzed him about his music career he was forced to admit that he was part of one of her favourite bands.
Sarah was stunned, repeatedly saying 'no way' and telling him that he was her teenage crush.
She even got him to speak to her mum over the phone to prove that she was on a date with a celebrity.

However, viewers weren't as impressed as Sarah was to see Ben on First Dates, and took to Twitter to mock their 'awkward' encounter.
One tweeted: 'If Ben from Curiosity Killed The Cat doesn't want to be recognised, then why the f*** is he still wearing the same hat that he had on in 1987?'
'If BenCuriosity wants to be anonymous, why is he wearing his manky old hat from the 80s for the entire date?! ' another posted.
A fourth agreed: 'Ah Ben from Curiosity Killed the Cat, give me a break still wearing that hat! Begging to be noticed.'
Viewers didn't buy Ben's desire to be anonymous, with many saying he was itching to tell Sarah about his fame in the 80s

A third said: 'Ben just wants to be anonymous again. Sat at the bar in a giant Curiosity Killed The Cat hat. Telling people about when he used to be in Curiosity Killed The Cat.'
Despite viewer interpretation, Ben revealed that he was happy to leave fame behind.
He said: 'I didn't really like the spotlight to be honest, but luckily as the years have gone by I've been able to become anonymous again.'
While he was in the band Ben admitted to battling with addictions to drugs and alcohol, which intensified after he left.
