Father says 8th-grade teacher assigned anti-Trump homework, 'bullied' son over Fox News

An Indiana school district has issued an apology after a middle school teacher was accused of letting her disdain for President Trump and Fox News influence her teaching.
As Fox News Insider reports, Sarah Ford, an eighth-grade Spanish teacher at Blackhawk Middle School in Fort Wayne, Ind., allegedly assigned a student a report on Trump’s “many lies.”
The student, Jacob Hein, told his father about the homework, prompting an official complaint. According to Todd Hein, his son was given the assignment after the teacher rejected — and reportedly ridiculed — his translation of a Fox News article for class on March 20.
“She came up to him in class in front of everybody and said, ‘I noticed that you cited Fox News on your last article, and I want you to know that Fox News is fake news,’” the elder Hein said during an appearance on Fox & Friends Wednesday. “‘It’s full of lies, and you’re no longer to use Fox News as a source for any of these assignments.’”
In a meeting with Hein and school officials, Ford allegedly admitted that she’d let her political beliefs sway her students’ schoolwork. She later apologized to Jacob Hein in class, but the family isn’t ready to make amends.
“They don’t need to listen to that in a Spanish class, of all things,” his father told Fort Wayne radio station WOWO. “I mean, there’s no other word to describe it. She bullied our son over Fox News.”
The school district has issued a statement regarding the matter, but hasn’t specified what, if any, punishment Ford might face. According to Hein, she was not fired.
“Fort Wayne Community Schools does not condone the kind of behavior detailed by this parent,” a spokesperson said. “When we were notified, we immediately investigated and took appropriate action. Because this is a personnel matter, I cannot provide details of the outcome of the investigation.”
Jacob Hein has since swapped the honors Spanish class for creative writing. According to local newspaper News-Sentinel, the decision to pull him from class came three days after the meeting with Ford, who then tasked students with writing reports on Trump’s lack of response to Puerto Rico in the months since Hurricane Maria.

This isn’t the first time a teacher has been accused of bashing Trump. Last month, a student recorded her teacher making anti-Trump statements in class. And in February, California students in a Spanish class were filmed hitting a piñata in the president’s likeness, resulting in a school investigation.

  1. father takes umbrage over "...allegedly assigned a student a report on Trump’s “many lies.”"

does this boys father suggest that trump has not lied many times? because trump has indeed lied many times. and for that matter, fox news along with CNN and MSNBC, lied repeatedly about 9/11 and saddam's nonexistent nuclear weapons in order to enable the US invasion of afghanistan and iraq.
